Principal Activities
Research/membership surveysThese will be aimed at establishing how overall the CHP sector views a range of specific issues (to inform future action); Lobbying/public affairsLobbying/public affairs (the economic and environmental benefits of CHP are not fully appreciated by everyone in a position to create a more favourable legislative and regulatory environment);
Promotion of CHPPromotion of CHP - raising awareness in key audiences; Contact point/exchangeContact point/exchange for ideas, help etc (mainly via website);
Signposting serviceSignposting service - website and hotline;
Dissemination of informationDissemination of information via newsletters, seminars, workshops etc;
‘Networking’ development‘Networking’ development - bringing people together in business and social events.
These ongoing activities would avoid duplicating work already done elsewhere. There is however an initial once-off workload involving preparation of membership prospectus, recruitment campaign, constitution development, organisational set-up activity. This work will be carried out mainly by bmf. Members will be invited (as appropriate, depending on the specific issue) to lead or participate actively in the lobbying and campaigning side of the Association’s work.
