In order for the CHP Facility to export or import electricity from the distribution or transmission system, the applicant must:

In order to obtain a connection offer, the developer of a CHP plant must apply to the DSO or the TSO, as applicable.

The Transmission System Operator is currently ESB National Grid, although it is intended that these functions will be vested in a new body, EirGrid. ESB Networks continues to act as Distribution System Operator, although it is proposed that this function will also ultimately be transferred to EirGrid.
